Winter brings a unique set of outdoor activities with winter festivals, ice fishing derbies and radar runs. Kids of all ages can enjoy ice skating or sledding and we also offer the best in snowmobile and cross country ski trails.

Popp's Resort is located right on the Iron Snowshoe Snowmobile Trail www.ironsnowshoe.com with over 100 miles of trails and connects up to many other trail systems which you could ride for days. You can ride you snowmobile right from your cottage, motel or home you rent fro Popp's. Bill's Four Seasons www.billsfourseasons.com rents snowmobiles and is located only about ½ mile from the resort.

Ice fishing on High Falls Flowage is very popular during the winter. You can drive right out of our boat landing and catch panfish, walleye and northerns. There are always lots for shack out on the ice and people driving vehicles out too. Popp's Resort rents Ice Fishing Shacks for you to stay warm in while fishing on High Falls Flowage. Every year, the second Saturday in February this is a Fish-O-Rama, Radar Run and Winterfest out on High Falls off of Boat landing 3 road. Visit our Bait Shop for all of your ice fishing needs.

Cross country skiing is another popular winter sport and Popp's Resort has 13 miles of groomed cross country ski trails for you to enjoy. In addition there are public trails nearby in Governor Thompson State Park and the Nicolet National Forest. Equipment rentals are available nearby.

Held the second Saturday in February, this annual event offers games, raffles and prizes with food and drink in our large heated tent.

In addition, there are snowmobile radar runs, an ice fishing derby and even an ice shack decorating contact.
